We're listening to Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" and Nadia asks me, "What's a criminal?" I tell her that a criminal is someone who does bad things, commits crimes.
"Oh, like Elena's a criminal because she throws things in the streets and that's bad, she's a criminal."

If I were you . . .
I took Nadia to piano yesterday and she just wasn't feeling it. I had to apologize to her instructor and leave without taking the class. On the way back home she tried to have a conversation with me, and since I was still so upset by her obnoxious behavior I told her, "Nadia, if I were you I'd be quiet right now." What does the little one say to that?
"If you were me YOU'D be the one in trouble and YOUR brain would be doing naughty things."
No comments. No answer to that.

We're not in 'Spaña anymore
Nadia and Elena were about to go to bed. Papi promised them an episode of Dora or Caillou before bed. On our way to my bedroom, where they prefer to watch TV, Nadia and I had the following conversation.
Nadia: Mommy, Dora the Explorer On Demand in 'spañol is not working.
Me: Yeah, baby, I noticed. Hmm.. wonder what's wrong with it.
Nadia: It's cause this is not 'Spaña, ma. No 'spañol.

Feelings
In asking about feelings
Nadia was at her aunt Meli's house and while there her other aunt, Carmen, agreed to let Nadia spend the night. I told Nadia that she couldn't because it was a school night and all the way home she was pretty ticked off at me for not allowing her to stay.
Anyway, we got home, and since Nadia hadn't been feeling well, I asked her, "Nadia, how are you feeling now, baby?" And she says to me, "I'm feeling like I want to go to titi's house, maaa."
She's so cute. The answer was still "NO"!
